One of the greatest principles of branding and building any breakthrough business is laser focus.  I know … I know… it is more than a notion to stay focused on one thought for more than 1 minute, let alone one single business idea in a world of creativity.

I hear many people say, I have so many great ideas and it seems as though I don’t know where to begin.  I believe the best start is a focused start. As you are looking to successfully transition from where you are to where you want to be, it will require one foot in front of the other.  That means that patience will become your best friend. It will require total focus.

You must take time to define your niche. I was sitting with a business consultant who told me that he knew of a wealthy serial entrepreneur who had formed several multi-million dollar companies. His strategy for BIG ideas was that he would take six months to retreat to THINK. His only focus for more than 180 days would be to simply think.

Wow, what could I do if I took six days to think?  What would you do? I encourage all of us to start with the 1,440 minutes that you have each day and make a deliberate aim to focus on the MAIN THING that will transform your vision into reality. Start the day with the first 10 minutes focusing on purpose for the day.  I try to pray and get clarity around the mission for today’s moment and center myself.  I then have the capacity to zone in on the MAIN THING.  Interestingly enough…fitness has become a way for me to focus.  It has created mental toughness, stamina and stress reduction. Find your center of focus.

Possibly the MAIN THING is taking the time to develop a detailed plan, possibly it is developing the weekly discipline of making follow up calls to those in your network. Possibly, it is simply writing a paragraph a day that will build to a chapter in your first book.

No matter how difficult it may seem, make a commitment to yourself to focus on the priority until you have made the priority a reality.  The power of focus can change your life…everyday it is transforming mine.

What  do you do if you don’t know your brand value? I feel like there are a lot of things I can do but not sure how to go about building a brand. Help!
