I believe in buliding relationships that inspire growth and foster change. My barber calls me an initiator, because I can effortlessly generate a conversation with most patrons.

I love to engage and connect with mankind by motivating his/her unique ability to start the spark of their journey. This exchange energizes me to stay flexible as I prepare for daily change in my own life. Bottom line relationships are great investments and this is my purpose.

I was disappointed to see poor community programming in low income areas so I decided to do something about it. I have a small business called “Imperial Creations Event Planning”. One of my services is All-Occasion catering. I decided to put on Cooking Basics Workshops at surrounding library branches to introduce unfamiliar cooking terminology to boys and girls, ages 8-11. When I mentioned the idea to different people they all said it was something they’d never heard of. The hands-on workshops were a blast and my heart was overjoyed to see the look on the kids faces and their interest in something new and exciting. It was something they’d never experienced and the workshops were authentic, organic, and original. I look forward to doing more. My platform is all about family because without that we lose our support system.

  3. For now, I have connected, via Facebook, with students that I once mentored during my tenure with Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I was their “other mother.” I now keep in touch, continue to inspire them, and even correct them when I see their heading in the wrong direction (based on their comments). Many of them have now graduating from college, and it is great to see and to hear of their accomplishments and growth. They are surprised to see me on FB. My future plan is to create a video miniseries.

Last year I formed a partnership with the Cherry Street Mission (A Christian Organization promoting human welfare and social reform), in the city where I live. I am the owner of Babydoll Treasures Inc. (a childrens learning center), we donated several commercial lots to the mission for a community garden. Our city was recently noted as being 8th in the nation for poverty. After hearing that alarming information I decided I wanted to help. The Cherry Street Mission fed over 200,000 people last year, and a vast majority of those individuals were homeless. My learning center is located directly behind the mission and we see them daily gather for a hot breakfast, lunch and dinner. We expect this garden to be one of the largest urban community gardens in the area, providing fresh foods, chickens for poultry, cherry and berry trees. This garden will serve as beautiful scenery for the people in this comunity who have been displaced from their homes. Gardening is relaxing and therapeutic and takes people back to a time when things were good. It brings about sustainability and helps with going GREEN.
